Indian Summer Connemaras

Caraway Pippa is home from her adventures in Virginia where she respectibly participated in adult pony club activities and a beginner novice horse trial schooling show. She's fallen into the mix of my hack around ponies -- riding around the farm, in lessons with Nanci Lindroth, trailering to The Foundation and trail riding wherever and whenever we can. I am not actively seeking a sale for Pippa, but were her perfect person to come along, ... She's a lovely mare who can be very fancy. She needs a calm, but firm and consistent rider with quiet hands and the confidence to trust and let go of the reins.

Belle is the last of the 2008 foals, born on May 5. She's sweet and playful, and loves to hear the sound of her voice! She is by Greystone Tiger O'Toole out of Connleigh Carys McMor (Dallen McMor of Greystone). February 2011: Belle has started in training as a driving pony with internationally recognized competitor, judge and trainer, Bill Long. We are very excited to be able to watch her progress! She's priced at $5,000 w/ price to increase with training and experience. Lim was my very first Connemara! She's a 1999 mare by Aladdin out of Oaktree Greystone Colleen. Inspected and approved when she was five, she received many "excellent" scores and comments of "good Connemara performance mare," "well balanced and well conformed mare" and "good forward movement." Lim has had one foal ("Toolie") and years of trail riding experience. She has some dressage training and is a natural jumper. She is easy to be around with excellent ground manners. Lim was trained to drive and worked with internationally recognized judge, competitor and trainer, Bill Long. She stands 15hh with over 8 inch bone. She is dark bay with a wishbone blaze. Sage is one of my favorite ponies! She is beautiful, talented and has the most wonderful personality. She stands 15.3hh and is bay, although in the summer she looks more like liver chestnut. Sage has been to a few dressage schooling shows with respectable results -- earning several 8s w/o much preparation! She's forward and a good jumper, too, although we have never really tested her jumping abilities to their full extent. Sage is the whole package and is priced at $12,500.00.

Bow is a flashy roan gelding who is fun to ride and drive. He has tons of trail riding experience, basic dressage, just a bit of jumping and lots and lots of driving. He has attended county fairs, pony shows, shown in hand and has driven in a variety of pleasure, fun and schooling type CDEs w/ excellent results. He received professional driving instruction and could really go and do w/ someone who had the time, energy and experience to get and keep him fit. Cute and flashy, Bow has presence and style. He is only for sale because I have more ponies than time. His skills are going to waste. Bow is priced at $10,500.00 firm.

Keelin is a 2004 dun mare by An Tostal winner Kerrymor Madison (Lynfields Kiltuck) out of Beacon's Piper (Balmullo's Beacon). Kee is a beautiful mare with talent and a work ethic. She loves her job and is proving very good at both jumping and dressage. Her second dressage test earned the judge's comment "A super (underlined) talented, energetic, horse."

Keelin was inspected and approved on October 5, 2008.

She was sold on September 7, 2009 to Glenda Wieland for her daughter Sarah to event. We look forward to hearing of their many adventures!

Darby is Carys' 2005 foal by Ballywhim An Luan. He has gone to live with Sheila Thakor to pursue a career in both dressage and endurance! Sheila writes regularly to give us news of Darby and his travels. He is acting as an emissary for his breed in Wisconsin! Recently Sheila celebrated Darby's birthday in style with twenty friends and a feast, including organic carrots and apples for the horses.

Shamus is fox hunting and eventing with Elizabeth Dyke in Virginia. Liz bought Shamus when he was a 2 year old. She's done a wonderful job with him. At the July 2009, Region III, ACPS show in Middleburg, Virginia, Shamus won Best Halfbred of the Day! In 2010 he won a class at Upperville!

Ballencrieff's Fleur de Lis is a 2001 mare by *Hearnesbrook Dunoon out of *Aille Ivory (*Grange Finn Sparrow). She is bay and stands 14h. Fleur had a filly foal in 2005 "Bridie" and a colt "Clyde" in 2008. She was inspected and approved in 2004.

Conneleigh Carys McMor is by a gray 2000 mare by An Tostal winner Dallen McMor of Greystone, out of Ballywhim Keliane (Tre Awain Dobh McDuff). She was born dark bay. Carys has had three foals, including "Darby" and "Belle." Carys was inspected and approved in 2004. She's no longer a broodmare, having transferred her maternal instincts in 2010 to caring for little people.

Ridgetop Roxie O'Day is a 2003 mare by Aladdin's Denver out of *Kilshanny Misty Day (Windy Day). She was born black and has wasted no time turning gray. Roxie was inspected and improved in 2007.

For a number of reasons, both personal and economic, we have decided to wind down the breeding program and sell most of the mares. Not a dud on the place, they are all wonderful and beautiful mares that I love dearly. I hope to find them good homes where they will be loved and treated like princesses.

Sadly, Birch was put down on Friday, January 9. His absence will leave a hole in our lives for a very long time. He was a joy and a trooper throughout his ordeal.
